Brother Ron Davidson, Al-'54,
a former President of the Washington Alumni Association,
died on August 10, 2002 at his residence in France,
just outside of Geneva.

Brother Davidson had a long career
with the U.S. Agency for International Development,
culminating in the Bureau of International Telecommunications and Information Policy
of the U.S. Department of State.
Brother Davidson then moved to Geneva
to take up a second career in the Bureau of Telecommunications Development
of the International Telecommunication Union,
where he was instrumental in the rapid spread of
telephone access in the developing world during the 1990s.

A popular member of the French community in which he resided,
he became connoisseur of regional wines and cheeses.
Brother Davidson had great pride in his brotherhood in Delta Phi Epsilon.
He took particular delight in noting that years ago he once brought Kofi Anan
to a Founder's Day Banquet,
when the future Secretary General of the United Nations was still a junior diplomat.

In the early 1980s Bro. Davidson played a critically decisive rôle
to ending the internal crisis affecting Alphas Chapter.

He willl be much missed.

National President of Delta Phi Epsilon Fraternity,
Bro.
Richard B. Beal, Al-'47,
has just published a new book,

The Cat Will Mew and Dog Will Have His Day,

is a revolutionary new novel
about the political and personal power

wielded for generations
by bad men and beautiful women.

The story is set early in the 21st century
where there's great concern
that North America is to become economically isolated
thanks to two powerful trade blocs,
a United Europe
and an Asia dominated by China.

The U.S. government mobilizes a highly covert mission,
which, unknown to the Americans,
is only part of a greater plan,
begun by the British in the 1800's.

This book is available from
the ebook publisher,
iUniverse
and can be ordered two ways:

l. On the Internet, by going to http:www.rbbeal.com

2. By telephone, by calling toll free: 1-877-823-9235

Richard B. Beal, Jr., served as a soldier in World War II and Korea,
and as a civilian with the Central Intelligence Agency in Vietnam.
He has published articles on terrorism
and, based on now declassified files,
on the secret operations of the Office of Strategic Services in World War II.

The Cat Will Mew... is his first work of fiction
and is a product of his observations and first hand experiences in the CIA.

Bro. Beal was initiated on Alpha Chapter's 55th Line in 1947.
He lives in Washington, D.C.
