In February 1963 newly initiated Bro. St. Clair C. Bourne, Al-'62, and fourteen fellow members of Alpha Chapter were arrested conducting a sit-in at a diner in Roslyn that had earlier refused to serve Bro. Bourne, who is Black. This was the first act of civil disobedience protesting segregation in the history of Georgetown University and made all the local newspapers. Click here to learn more about that sit-in.
