BETA CHAPTER

The outgoing Secretary for Chapters in 1948 left a note for his successor: "you must watch Beta; they are slow on reports." They seem to get slower, but visits to New York always produce Brothers Nick Ponzio and Guy Chater and the reassurance that Beta is just the best chapter Delta Phi Epsilon has; but still, there are no reports.

NEW YORK ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The prime purpose of the New York Alumni Association during the war and post war years was to maintain an organization that could assist in activating Beta Chapter at New York University. To this end the NYAA was successful and Beta Chapter is now well established and capable of standing on its own feet.

Brother Guy Chater was the motivating force in this accomplishment.

In recent years the Alumni Association has obtained best results by holding three or four dinner meetings, supplemented by informal luncheon gatherings. Founders' Day dinners, sponsored jointly by the active charter and the Alumni Association, have been held regularly.

The maintenance of a close coordination between the Association and the active chapter has been realized due largely to the Association's policy of having some of the younger men hold office.

The MANIFEST, published jointly by Beta and the NYAA, continues to make its appearance periodically.
